Katie Richards

FREED PhD Student (Kings College London)

Katie joined the FREED team in 2019 as a PhD student. Before starting her PhD, Katie worked for the Mental Health Research Network in Scotland, where she gained years of experience in clinical research and emerging adult mental health. During that time, she also completed an MSc in Human Cognitive Neuropsychology.

Katie is involved in evaluating FREED as it is ‘rolled-out’ to eating disorder teams across the UK. Her PhD aims to identify and measure factors that influence the adoption and use of FREED in different settings. She will also be looking at what staff and people with lived experience of eating disorders want the priorities to be within eating disorder services.

When not in the office, she can often be found salsa dancing.
