David Tate

Senior Eating Disorders practitioner & FREED Champion (Tees, Esk & Wear Valleys) / Project Lead FREED, AHSN NENC (Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear)

Over the last 22 months, I have planned, developed and championed on the implementation of FREED across Tees, Esk & Wear Valleys (TEWV) NHS Foundation Trust's two children’s eating disorder teams and adults eating disorders team. To help improve access to eating disorder services locally and embed the benefits and principles of FREED, we have had a live and fully functioning FREED mini team of 8 clinical members since August 2021. To date over 70 patients have benefited and utilised the FREED pathways and principles in our services.

I have two roles: Senior Eating Disorders practitioner & FREED Champion in TEWV NHS Foundation Trust (4 days a week), and Project Lead for FREEED in the Academic Health Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria, supporting Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (1 day a week)
