Karina Allen

FREED Consultant Clinical Psychologist (Maudsley) & Visiting Senior Lecturer (King's College London)

Karina is the Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation (SLaM) Trust Eating Disorder Service. She has over 15 years of clinical and research experience within the eating disorders field. Karina has been heavily involved with the ‘roll out’ of FREED into other NHS eating disorder services and ensuring its ongoing effectiveness for young people, their families and the services involved. She received an NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) Fellowship that helped progress this work.

Karina completed her clinical training and PhD in eating disorders in Australia. She is now happily settled in the UK and enjoys the particular British delights of wild blackberries, ruined castles, and a constant ability to talk about the weather. She is on maternity leave in 2020.
